It’s true, around two years ago I bought an ipod video and just last year I lost it. Cleaning through my cupboard today, I see it lying alone in the dark, scratched, rugged and covered in dust!

I gave it a wee clean and plugged it into my Macbook and viola, it appeared to be working! Currently I am just charging it up and syncing all my music, photos & video to it. I’ll try getting some better photos of it tomorrow.

Oh and by I know I am a little old school with the iPod video and all, but its good to find some old technology. I’m saving for the iPod touch.
Anyways,

Thats all for now. Enjoy the photos.

Off till September. Woo!

Thats right folks, thats me done all my first year work. Done. Dusted. First year out the window, bring on second year! If your wondering what I am talking about, its university. I made a post about it a few weeks ago letting everyone know that it was my last day the next day, but on Tuesday there I had a final presentation to do and it went well. The relief after coming out that room was awesome.

So, what the hell am I going to do until September? Currently, I am in two minds. Firstly, I have a potential job opportunity down in Birmingham, were I could work for a design company and gain experience as a junior web designer,
or, I could find something part time over the summer to gain a little extra cash and do something more productive with my time rather than sitting about on my fat arse?!

On a completely different note, I was speaking with a good friend of mine Gareth Hodson and he came up with an awesome idea for Flockey. I have found over the past couple of weeks that my beloved readers like the posts which involve the viewing of my latest work. So what Gareth said was maybe to add a little extra to my pricing and design offerings. The idea is this. Once I design and complete whatever it is the client needs, I will give them the chance to be exposed on Flockey for $10.00 extra once their site is online, a bit like a review.

With the way my traffic and stuff is going at the moment, this could be beneficial for the client for such a low fee.

Anyway, thats all I have for the moment. Again I thank you for reading Flockey, if this is your first time - Subscribe to the RSS feed!

First Year - Done. ALREADY?!

All I keep saying at the moment is wow. Seriously. Wow. Tomorrow is my last official day of my first year and what an amazing journey it’s been, its bloody flew in! I have met so many new people and had so much fun. My course and lecturers have been great and the coursework has been pretty fun, but tough at the same time, but as always thats expected.

So why do I mostly write about my personal life? A question that I ask myself sometimes. I do it because I think talking about your personal life that little bit extra engages with the end user or client. It gives them more of an insight into who they are working with and what type of person they are.

Some of the images I am including in this post are just some screenshots of some of my coursework that i’ve had to do over the year. The B4 coursework was we had to design a logo for a new tv channel “B4″ which was owned by channel 4. The TV channel would show a list of TV shows which had been on that day and you would be able to select which one you wanted to watch. The arrow on the backwards ‘4′ is to represent the word ‘before’ or ‘previous’, just like the TV channel. Something conceptual I went with.

The image above is a screenshot from a poster I designed. To view the full poster, click here.

This image is just a part of the development process, quickly drawing out some ideas for how the ‘arrow’ would be implemented to the design. As another part of the coursework to gain extra marks, you were to design your own website template, so on the last few hours on presentation day, I threw this design up very quickly, just to add to what I had already.

I guess thats all I have at the moment, I’d just like to thank you all for reading. Oh and please do so if your a first time reader and subscribe to the RSS Feed. Would be greatly appreciated.
